⚜️Aftercare⚜️

Please remember:
Once you leave the studio, caring for your tattoo is your responsibility.

Proper aftercare ensures the best healing and protects the quality of your tattoo.

If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please call or email the studio. Since we guarantee our work, it is important that you follow these instructions—not advice from friends or online sources.

Healing time:
Most tattoos take 15–30 days to fully heal.

General Hygiene & Safety

  • Use clean bed linens while your tattoo is healing.

  • Do not allow pets or animals to touch or lick your tattoo.

  • Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

    • Use soap and lather thoroughly for at least 30 seconds, then rinse well.

Bandage Removal

  • Remove the bandage after 4 days.

  • Tattoos may ooze blood and plasma—this is normal.

  • All wounds need air to heal properly.

  • Do not re-bandage the tattoo.

Cleaning Your Tattoo

  • Wash the tattoo with a mild antibacterial soap and warm water.

  • Use only your hands—no washcloths or sponges.

  • Gently remove all blood and plasma, as buildup can cause scabbing.

  • Do not scrub the tattoo for the first two weeks.

  • Pat dry with a clean, soft cloth, then allow the tattoo to air dry for 10–20 minutes until completely dry.

Ointment & Moisturizing

  • Once dry, apply a very thin layer of RX Aftercare Products for the first 2 weeks.

  • After the first 2 weeks, switch to Lubriderm.

  • Use only enough to create a slight shine—a little goes a long way.

  • Applying too much ointment can trap germs and lead to infection.

  • The goal is to keep the tattoo moist, not greasy, and prevent scabbing.

Daily Care Routine

  • Wash, dry, and apply ointment 2–3 times daily during the first week.

  • After the first week, switch to an unscented moisturizer(lotion or petroleum jelly).

  • Apply lotion twice daily for the remainder of the healing period.

  • Do not use lotions with fragrance or color until healing is complete.

Keeping your tattoo moisturized helps it heal by forming a thin protective membrane instead of a scab.

Important Do’s & Don’ts

  • DO NOT peel or pick at your tattoo — you will pull ink out.

  • DO NOT scratch, rub, or pick, no matter how itchy it gets.

  • DO NOT soak your tattoo:

    • No swimming, hot tubs, steam rooms, or long showers.

  • Take warm showers only— hot water and steam open pores and can cause pigment loss.

  • Avoid excessive sweating during the first week, as it can push pigment out.

Scrubbing or disrupting the tattoo during healing can cause color fading or scar tissue.

Final Reminder

Keep your tattoo clean, moisturized, and protected, and it will heal beautifully.
